The wait is over

The wait is over for myself (and many other North Carolinians) - New Belgium's Fat Tire Amber Ale (and two others for now) is now being sold in NC. Until recently, this wonderful brew was only available in IL and west of the Mississippi. But now, they have expanded into TN and NC, and judging by the buzz surrounding it here in NC, it should be quite the hit. We went out to find some yesterday, and that proved to be a little difficult. Not many stores carry it yet, and those that did, are all sold out. So we finally found some at a Total Wine store - and we got there just in time. There were 3 shoppers in the whole store, and they were all looking for the same thing - Fat Tire. We ended up with one of the last cases they had (store manager said that was pretty all he was selling in the last few weeks). That case should last me long enough for them to get it back in stock.

I had a brief brush with this beer on our trip to Denver a few years ago, and then my brother re-introduced me to it back home in IA. Then, on another trip out west (San Francisco) last year, I got to enjoy it once again (right).

The pic in the upper left is to show you how big the Inaugural 'First in Flight' bottles are compared to regular beers (22 oz.) This beer is so tasty, you hardly notice that your drinking almost two regular sized beers. :)

I highly recommend that you give it a try - and if you like it, I am glad that I was able to help introduce you to this wonderful brew - and if you don't like, let me know, and I will send you directions to a bar that serves PBR and Old Milwaukee on tap.
